Vintage Film Wedding Photography

For couples who love that nostalgic, old-school film look.

There’s something about a film photograph that just feels different. The soft grain, beautiful colors, little imperfections, and slightly unpredictable nature of the process give photographs a warmth and character that is difficult to recreate digitally.

Alongside my digital wedding photography, I offer 35mm and 120mm medium format film photography as an addition to selected wedding packages. I don't photograph your entire wedding on film—instead, I pick out those moments where the vintage look works beautifully.

Think about getting ready with your friends, your dad seeing you for the first time, a quiet moment together, drinks in the sunshine, your grandparents laughing, or everyone dancing later in the evening. The moments that already feel a little bit nostalgic become even more special when captured on real film.

Why add film to your wedding photography?

Film isn't about making your wedding photographs look perfect. In fact, it's almost the opposite.

It's about the grain, the colours, the softness, and the little imperfections that make each photograph feel personal. There's something wonderfully timeless about looking at a photograph and feeling like it could have come from your parents' or grandparents' wedding album.

My main approach is still relaxed, documentary wedding photography, so you won't have to spend your day posing for film photographs. I'll simply keep an eye out for the moments that I think would look amazing on film and capture them as they happen.

If you love vintage wedding photography, nostalgic film colors, and that timeless analogue look, adding film photography to your wedding package could be a really lovely way to give your gallery something a little different.

Have a look through some of my favorite film photographs below and see if you love the look as much as I do.
